Description
These small-size United States Notes, first issued in 1928, were the very first two-dollar bills printed in the reduced dimensions still used today. Featuring a bold red Treasury seal and serial numbers, the obverse depicts Thomas Jefferson while the reverse shows his Monticello estate. “Cull” notes are heavily circulated, often with tears, stains, or heavy wear, but still represent a tangible piece of U.S. monetary history. The 1928 Red Seal series is significant as it marked the transition from the larger “horse blanket” notes to the modern-sized currency.
