Description
The 1982 Washington Silver Half Dollar was issued to commemorate the 250th anniversary of George Washington’s birth. Struck in both Proof and Uncirculated finishes, each coin contains 0.3617 troy ounces of .900 fine silver.
This historic issue marked the first 90% silver commemorative coin released by the U.S. Mint since 1954, honoring the nation’s first president with a classic portrait by John Flanagan on the obverse and an image of Washington on horseback on the reverse.
