The obverse depicts the profile of Paul Kruger, the former President of Zar from 1883-1902. The Image of Kruger is surrounded by the inscriptions of “SUID-AFRIKA” and “SOUTH AFRICA,” stating the name of the country in both English and Afrikaans. The reverse side of the .999 silver Krugerrand features the springbok antelope and the words “KRUGERRAND,” “2017” and “FYNSILWER 1 OZ FINE SILVER R1.”
This is the scarcer proof version of the 50th anniversary coin in perfect condition. Check eBay for comparable prices.
