Description
The Three Cent Copper-Nickel coin, issued from 1865 to 1889, was introduced to help ease coin shortages after the Civil War. Made of 75% copper and 25% nickel, it features a Liberty head on the obverse and a Roman numeral III on the reverse. Low-grade examples typically show heavy wear, with flattened details and faint legends, but remain collectible due to their historical significance and relatively short mintage run.
